The St. Anthony’s Boys Village and Rogationist Academy in Toril, Davao, hosted the Meeting of the Local Superiors, Responsible and Treasurers of the St. Matthew Province on October 21-25, 2024 - the first time such a Circumscription-wide gathering was held in Mindanao. The 5-day encounter missed the physical presence of the Provincial Superior, Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, who had to attend to a health concern, which he settled swiftly. It was a grace that the rest of the members of the Provincial Council were present - Fr. Jessie Martitizar, RCJ, Fr. Ronaldo Paulino, RCJ and Fr. Ronaldo Masilang, RCJ - led by the Provincial Vicar, Fr. John Joffer Lucas, RCJ. Reports and updates about the current status of the Province were presented, and identified issues deliberated on to come up with recommendations. The relatively brief encounter was also graced by the presence of and interventions by two officers of the General Curia, Fr. Jose Maria Ezpeleta, RCJ, the General Vicar and Councilor of the Sector of Religious Life, Formation and Vocation Promotion, and Fr. Brizio Giovanni Greco, RCJ, the General Treasurer, who came with Fr. Antonio Leuci, RCJ, the Superior of the St. Hannibal (Italy Center-South) Province. They, respectively, spoke of Ongoing Formation and the Economic Instruction of the Congregation. Fr. Alfonso Flores, RCJ, the Provincial Treasurer, also attended parts of this meeting. Bro.
