(Silang, Cavite. April 15, 2026) — The third day of the General Assembly was defined by deep reflection and collaboration. Communal activities continued as the religious confreres prepared for the upcoming 4th Provincial Chapter.
The day began with the Celebration of the Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Joseph Arcaño, RCJ. In his homily, he reminded the assembly that God’s love is not contingent upon human perfection, emphasizing that “we are loved not because we are perfect, but because God is love.” He encouraged the confreres to support one another on their journey toward holiness, stressing that the call is not to be flawless, but to remain open and walk continually toward the light of Christ.
At 9:00 AM, Fr. Jose Maria Ezpeleta, RCJ, Vicar General of the Congregation, provided an orientation on the procedures for the sectoral group workshops. Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, Provincial Superior, further explained that these sessions would follow the "Conversation in the Spirit" methodology.
The sessions focused on identifying key concerns across various Provincial Sectors while discerning a central theme for the 4th St. Matthew Provincial Chapter. The working groups were divided into the following sectors:Governance, Religious Life, Formation, and Vocation Ministry, Rogate, Parishes, Laity, and Youth Ministry, Service of Charity and Missions, and Administration of Goods. A dedicated committee to formulate the Chapter’s theme
The entire day was dedicated to these sectoral works, organized into three sharing sessions. The fruits of these dialogues will be presented to the Assembly tomorrow. The schedule also allowed for a period of recreation, where religious novices and postulants participated in organized games to foster fraternity.
This productive day concluded with the communal recitation of the Rosary and Evening Prayer (Vespers).
Assemblea Generale SMP | GIORNO 3: Discernimento Sinodale nello Spirito
(Silang, Cavite. 15 aprile 2026) — La terza giornata dell'Assemblea Generale è stata caratterizzata da profonda riflessione e collaborazione. Sono proseguite le attività comunitarie mentre i confratelli si preparano per il IV Capitolo Provinciale.
La giornata si è aperta con la Celebrazione Eucaristica presieduta da P. Joseph Arcaño, RCJ. Nella sua omelia, egli ha ricordato all'assemblea che l'amore di Dio non si basa sulla perfezione umana, sottolineando che "siamo amati non perché siamo perfetti, ma perché Dio è amore". Ha incoraggiato i confratelli a sostenersi a vicenda nel cammino verso la santità, ribadendo che la chiamata non è alla perfezione assoluta, ma all'apertura e a un cammino continuo verso la luce di Cristo.
Alle ore 9:00, P. Jose Maria Ezpeleta, RCJ, Vicario Generale della Congregazione, ha presentato l'orientamento sulle procedure da seguire durante i lavori dei gruppi settoriali. P. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, Superiore Provinciale, ha inoltre spiegato che tali lavori avrebbero seguito lo schema della "Conversazione nello Spirito".
La sessione si è concentrata sull'individuazione delle principali preoccupazioni nei vari settori provinciali, con l'obiettivo di discernere un tema centrale per l'imminente IV Capitolo della Provincia Sant'Matteo. I settori includevano gruppi su: Governo; Vita Religiosa, Formazione e Pastorale Vocazionale; Rogate; Parrocchie, Laici e Pastorale Giovanile; Servizio della Carità e Missioni; Amministrazione dei Beni. Un gruppo speciale per la formulazione del tema del Capitolo
L'intera giornata è stata dedicata a questi lavori settoriali, suddivisi in tre sessioni di condivisione, i cui frutti saranno presentati all'Assemblea l'indomani. La giornata ha previsto anche un momento di ricreazione, durante il quale i novizi e i postulanti hanno partecipato a giochi organizzati per promuovere la fraternità.
L'intensa giornata si è conclusa con la recita comune del Rosario e la preghiera del Vespro.
