Mission Send Off to the Missionary Station of Indonesia of Fr. Elmer Dula

In a simple rite of Mission Send Off to the Missionary Station of Indonesia, which was incorporated in the Eucharistic liturgy, presided over by Fr. John Joffer Lucas, the Provincial Vicar, Fr. Elmer Dula was conferred his missionary cross - the sign of Christ's love and man's faith on June 28, 2017 at the Fr. Hannibal Formation Center. Fr. Dula, who was for some years a missionary to Papua New Guinea, is replacing Fr. Breynard Peji, who himself generously served the said mission in Indonesia for over a decade and is now set to pursue further studies in Rome, Italy.

Let us offer for Fr. Dula this excerpt from the prayer for the missionary, recited during the liturgy:

"Lord, look kindly on your servant/missionary. We send him forth as messenger of the joy of salvation, marked with the sign of the Cross. Guide his steps with your mighty arm and with the power of your grace to fulfill his mission which is a sharing in the very mission of your Son. Strengthen him in spirit, so that he will not falter through weariness. Make his voice the echo of Christ's voice, so that those who hear him may be drawn to live according to the Gospel. Fill the heart of your missionary with the Holy Spirit, so that, he may enthusiastically lead your flock as a shepherd according to the compassionate Heart of Jesus and after the example of missionary zeal of St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. AMEN"
