The St. Matthew Province honored Fr. Joseph Aveni, remembering his death five years ago. Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, the Provincial Councilor for Charity and Missions, presided over the Holy Mass at Fr. Aveni's tomb in the presence of seminarians, religious students and sisters, members of the Union of Prayer for Vocations, some friends and benefactors, with several priests from the nearby communities. Before the final blessing, testimonies were heard from persons are known to have close encounters with Fr. Aveni.
