Workshop on the Manual of the Charitable Institutions of the St. Matthew Province

Last February 6-7, 2018, the St. Matthew Province organized a workshop participated in by Rogationist confreres, Social Workers and Educators of their respective Charitable Institutions, at the Oasis of Prayer, Lalaan II, Silang, Cavite.  The said workshop aimed at formulating the Manual for the Charitable Institutions of the Province. It has the following objectives: (a) to know the two icons of the Rogate and its embodiment in the Charitable Institutions of the RCJ SMP; b) to be reminded of, if not know, the orientation of the Charitable Institutions in living the Rogate in the context of the SMP; (c) to deepen their prayer life and sense of service in the Charitable Institutions; (d) to express the said orientation through its Vision-Mission Statement and lastly; (e) to be more encouraged to do better their respective tasks in their respective institutions.

It started with a recollection where Rev. Fr. Jessie Martirizar, the Postulant Director of the Province, talked about the two icons of the ROGATE and its embodiment in the Charitable Institutions of the St. Matthew Province.  It was followed by a moment of reflection and prayer.  In the afternoon of February 6, 2018, Fr. Orville R. Cajigal provided a backgrounder and gave instructions about the activities to follow. They were divided into two groups with particular works to do.

The next day, February 7, 2018, each group presented their work.  There was a moment of sharing among the participants regarding varied concerns which may be helpful in drafting of the Manual.  They, then, had the evaluation of the entire workshop to conclude their work.

The workshop was attended by: Fr. Santos Solitario, Fr. Wesley Taguibao, Rev. Giovanni Gamaya, Bro. Eduardo De Palma, Ms. Noreen Discaya and Ms. Nerissa Pamaglima, who represented the St. Anthony’s Boys Village – Cavite; Fr. Ronald Masilang, who represented St. Anthony’s Boys Village – Davao; Fr. Dante Quidayan, Ms. Jennifer Guevarra and Ms. Jergelyn Biolena representing St. Hannibal Multi-Level School Foundation in Parañaque; Fr. Jonrey Lauron, who represented the charitable institution in Community of the Indigenous People (Aetas) in Bataan; Fr. Dexter Prudenciano,  Fr. Orville Cajigal and Bro. Tom June Lancin, representing the St. Hannibal Empowerment Center in Manila. As output, the workshop produced an evaluation and a revised draft of the shared Vision-Mission Statement, Organizational Structure and Strategy of the Charitable Institutions of the St. Matthew Province, which shall be parts of the said Manual. Another workshop shall soon be organized to complete the task.
