Philippine Quasi Province Starts General Assembly

(April 22-23) Sixty-four perpetually professed Rogationist priests, deacons and lay brothers gathered at the Rogationist Center of Spirituality “Oasis of Prayer” in Silang, Cavite for the biennial General Assembly of the Circumscription. Fr. Bruno Rampazzo RCJ, Vicar General of the Congregation has been designated by Fr. General as the President of the Assembly. All the communities of the Quasi Province from the Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, South Korea and Vietnam were represented. Eight others were not able to participate because of their assignments overseas.

Bishop Broderick Pabillo, Auxiliary Bishop of Manila opened the gathering with a three-day retreat on the eve of April 22 with an orientation of the spiritual exercises. On April 23, he preached about the basics on challenges to the religious of today of Sequela Christi, the Eucharist, and the Simplicity of Life. The preacher is in charge of the Social Action of the Archdiocese of Manila and the Chairman of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines Committee on Social Action, Justice and Peace. Almost all of the Rogationist priests in the Philippines were his former student in Biblical courses at Don Bosco School of Theology in Paranaque.
