(Silang, April 13) — The Perpetually Professed Religious and Priests of the St. Matthew Province (SMP) of the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus from the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea, Australia and the USA gathered today to begin their five-day General Assembly. The event opened with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Jose Maria Ezpeleta, RCJ, Vicar General of the Congregation, and delagated by the Superior General to preside over the Assembly. Joining him at the altar as main concelebrants were confreres celebrating their 25th anniversary of religious profession.
In his homily, Fr. Ezpeleta welcomed the participants and emphasized the necessity of returning to the fundamentals of faith. He highlighted baptism as the gateway to the sacraments and the essential foundation of Christian and Rogationist consecrated life which is none other than the conformity of one’s mind and behavior to that of Jesus Christ of the Rogate.
During the afternoon session, Fr. Jessie Martirizar, RCJ, delivered the keynote address entitled, “Rogate: Grace upon Grace.” He underscored the Rogationist identity as a community deeply rooted in prayer, noting that every vocation is a gift of grace nurtured through spiritual devotion.
Fr. Martirizar also traced the Congregation’s growth in the Philippines—from its humble beginnings in Parang, Bagac, Bataan, to the establishment of the St. Matthew Province, which now spans over 30 houses across seven countries. He noted that this expansion reflects diverse pastoral efforts to serve the laity and the marginalized, reinforcing the mission of the Rogationists as dedicated "laborers in the Lord’s harvest."
The afternoon concluded with Eucharistic Adoration for Vocations, led by Fr. Joseph Arcaño, RCJ. As the first day also served as a day of recollection, confessors were available for the participants.

(Silang, 13 aprile) — I religiosi professi perpetui e i sacerdoti della Provincia San Matteo (PSM) dei Rogazionisti del Cuore di Gesù provvenienti dalle Filippine, e rappresentanti dalla Papua Nuova Guinea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Corea del Sud, Australia and l'USA si sono riuniti oggi per dare inizio all'Assemblea Generale di cinque giorni. L'evento si è aperto con una Celebrazione Eucaristica presieduta da P. Jose Maria Ezpeleta, RCJ, Vicario Generale della Congregazione, e inviato dal Superiore Generale. Accanto a lui all'altare, come concelebranti principali, i confratelli che commemorano il loro 25° anniversario di professione religiosa.
Nella sua omelia, P. Ezpeleta ha accolto i partecipanti e ha sottolineato la necessità di tornare ai fondamenti della fede. Egli ha evidenziato il battesimo come porta dei sacramenti e fondamento essenziale della vita consacrata cristiana e rogazionista, la quale altro non è che la conformità della propria mente e del proprio agire a quelli di Gesù Cristo del Rogate.
Nella sessione pomeridiana, P. Jessie Martirizar, RCJ, ha tenuto la prima conferenza dal titolo: “Rogate: Grazia su Grazia”. Egli ha sottolineato l'identità rogazionista come comunità radicata nella preghiera, osservando che ogni vocazione è una grazia nutrita attraverso di essa.
P. Martirizar ha inoltre ripercorso la crescita della Congregazione nelle Filippine: dalle origini a Parang, Bagac, Bataan, fino alla costituzione della Provincia San Matteo, che oggi comprende più di 30 case in sette paesi. Ha evidenziato come questi sviluppi riflettano diverse espressioni pastorali volte a servire i laici e i bisognosi, rafforzando la missione dei Rogazionisti come operai impegnati nella messe del Signore. Il pomeriggio si è concluso con l'Adorazione Eucaristica per le Vocazioni presieduta da P. Joseph Arcaño, RCJ. Essendo considerata anche una giornata di ritiro, sono stati invitati dei confessori per i partecipanti.
