(SILANG, CAVITE, April 14)— The second day of the General Assembly of the Rogationists of the St. Matthew Province opened with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, the Provincial Superior. In his homily, Fr. Cajigal emphasized the necessity of encountering Jesus through prayer and the Word of God, urging his confreres to maintain a constant, meaningful prayer life as a community united in one mind and heart.
At 9:00 AM, the assembly reconvened with an opening message from the General Superior, Fr. Bruno Rampazzo, RCJ, delivered by the Vicar General, Fr. Jose Maria Ezpeleta, RCJ. Fr. Cajigal then led the presentation of the Evaluation of the Province’s three-year plan, the policies for the 2026–2027, the procedures for identifying key concerns, and the theme for the 4th Provincial Chapter of the St. Matthew Province. Following this, the Provincial Secretary, Bro. Christian Allan De Sagun, RCJ, explained the salient points and essential directives of the Letter of Convocation for the upcoming Provincial Chapter scheduled on October13-19, 2026. Fr. Ronaldo Victoria, RCJ, concluded the morning session by presenting proposed activities for the SMP Rogate Congress in anticipation of the Circumscription’s Golden Jubilee scheduled on November21-23, 2026..
In the afternoon, Fr. Breynard Peji, RCJ, presented the tentative schedule for the 4th Provincial Chapter, which had been previously reviewed by the Provincial Council, local superiors, and administrators. Bro. De Sagun then facilitated a presentation of the Province’s calendar of activities for the 2026–2027 formation year.
After several days of meetings and discussions, the religious community—joined by the novices and postulants—participated in a week-long sports festival organized by Fr. Philip Alensolurin, RCJ. The second day concluded with a communal Rosary and evening prayers.
A total of 90 confreres are physically present in the venue while others are participating online in the plenary sessions. Those present are broken down into 77 priests, 9 deacons, 2 perpetually professed religious Brothers and 6 perpetually professed religious students. They represent 34 commun, mission stations, and missionary presences of the St. Matthew Province in 7 countries: the Philippines, Australia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, South Korea, Vietnam, and the USA
PSM ASSEMBLEA GENERALE. 2o Giorno: Uniti in un Solo Cuore e un’Anima Sola
(SILANG, CAVITE, 14 aprile) — La seconda giornata dell’Assemblea Generale dei Rogazionisti della Provincia San Matteo si è aperta con la celebrazione eucaristica presieduta da P. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, Superiore Provinciale. Nella sua omelia, P. Cajigal ha sottolineato l’importanza dell’incontro con Gesù attraverso la preghiera e la Parola di Dio, esortando i confratelli a mantenere una vita di preghiera costante e profonda come comunità unita in un solo cuore e un’anima sola.
Alle ore 9:00, l'assemblea è ripresa con il messaggio di apertura del Superiore Generale, P. Bruno Rampazzo, RCJ, letto dal Vicario Generale, P. Jose Maria Ezpeleta, RCJ. Successivamente, P. Cajigal ha guidato la presentazione della valutazione del piano triennale della Provincia, delle linee guida per l’anno 2026-2027, delle procedure per l'individuazione delle problematiche e del tema del IV Capitolo Provinciale. Il Segretario Provinciale, Fr. Christian Allan De Sagun, RCJ, ha poi illustrato i punti salienti e le indicazioni essenziali della Lettera di Convocazione del prossimo Capitolo Provinciale che sara' dal 13-19 ottobre 2026. A seguire, P. Ronaldo Victoria, RCJ, ha presentato le attività proposte per il Congresso Rogate in vista del Giubileo d'Oro della Circoscrizione dal 21 al 23 novembre 2026.
Nel pomeriggio, P. Breynard Peji, RCJ, ha presentato la bozza del programma per il IV Capitolo Provinciale, precedentemente revisionata dal Consiglio Provinciale, dai Superiori locali e dai Responsabili. Fr. De Sagun ha poi coordinato la presentazione del calendario delle attività della Provincia per l’anno formativo 2026-2027.
Dopo alcuni giorni dedicati a incontri e confronti, i religiosi, insieme ai novizi e ai postulanti, hanno partecipato a una settimana di tornei sportivi organizzata da P. Philip Alensolurin, RCJ. La seconda giornata si è conclusa con la recita del Rosario e la preghiera della sera.
Un totale di 90 confratelli è presente fisicamente presso la sede, mentre altri partecipano alle sessioni plenarie online. I presenti sono suddivisi in 77 sacerdoti, 9 diaconi, 2 fratelli religiosi professi perpetui e 6 studenti religiosi professi perpetui. Essi rappresentano 34 comunità, stazioni missionarie e presenze missionarie della Provincia Sant'Matteo in 7 paesi: Filippine, Australia, Indonesia, Papua Nuova Guinea, Corea del Sud, Vietnam e Stati Uniti.
