IN TONALÁ, JALISCO, MÉXICO
A word of thanksgiving to our pioneer rogationist fathers who came to Mexico in 2004 and who began, in 2005, the first Christmas Fest for needy children. Thank you very much to Fr. Vito Di Marzio, Fr. Rene Panlasigui and Fr. Edwin Manio. God bless them!
Since they started this event here in Mexico, we have continued it for two main reasons. Frist, it is an expression of our rogationist charism and, second, to imitate the love Saint Hannibal Mary Di Francia had for the poor children.
This year, again, the rogationist fathers, the rogationstist family and our benefactors made this Christmas Fest possible. First of all, we thank God, who in all his providence gave us everything we needed for this celebration. The event was on December 17, 2016. It took place in our multipurpose hall, from 8:00am to 2:00pm. It began with the Eucharist at 9:00am. At 10:00am there was breakfast for 450 children. At 11:00am there was a Show ran by clowns. Next, there was a traditional Mexican pastorela (a Christmas story). After the pastorela, the children broke the piñatas; each one of them received a bag of toys and a grocery bag. Lastly, we all took a group picture.
It was a well-organized Christmas fest, all the rogationist family members worked very hard and with joy and all the children had a lot of fun, learned about the meaning of Christmas and gave us a great satisfaction for having done such a wonderful event.
We are looking forward to organizing the next Christmas Fest for poor children in 2017. May God bless us all. Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year to all of you!
