Last November 16, 2013, St. Mary’s Church held a two-fold important event, procession and blessing of the new altar. The procession was held around the Church’s ground on the occasion of the closing of the year of faith.
The said celebration started in front of the Church’s building with the blessing of the Rogationists cross that was installed in front of the Church. Then, the procession began with a song about the Eucharist, while going to the first FAITH-station, the Eucharist. Two lay speaker from the parish faithful speak about a brief catechism about the Eucharist and its importance in their personal experiences. The catechism and sharing was done in English and Spanish. It was concluded by reciting a bilingual prayers to Jesus in the Eucharist.
There were 5 Faith-stations that where beautifully arranged and adorned, namely, the Eucharist, devotion to Mary, Reconciliation, communion of saints, works of charity. From the outside ground the procession proceeded inside the Church for the blessing of the new Altar. It was presided by Fr. Giovanni Bruno, rcj, the present parish priest who assumed it’s new assignment last year. It was a wonderful way of concluding the year of faith with a new altar in placed where the source and summit of faith is being celebrated and renewed, the Eucharist.
