Three confreres of the St. Matthew Province received the missionary cross during the Rite of Mission Send-off to their new assignments in other Circumscriptions: Fr. Carlo Balaguer to Mexico (Our Lady of Guadalupe Delegation), Fr. Jeffrey Jagurin to Colombia (St. Anthony Province), and Fr. Ronaldo Masilang to Rome (Studentato Teologico). Fr. Ariel Tecson, Provincial Councilor on Religious Life, Formation and Vocation Ministry, upon the delegation of Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, presided over the Eucharist and the Rite, joined by the members of the community, on May 15 for Fr. Masilang in the community of Fr. Di Francia Center of Studies, and on May 16 for Fr. Balaguer and Fr. Jagurin at the Provincial House.
The three are among the several confreres of the Province who are sent to various Circumscriptions this year as part of its commitment of collaboration and sharing. The mission send off this year acquires a particular significance in the Jubilee Year of the 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines, with the theme: Gifted to Give. These latest send-off are also meaningful because it takes place on the anniversary of the foundation of the Rogationist Congregation 124 years ago and the 17th anniversary of the canonization of St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia.
