Six Vietnamese Rogationist Deacons: Paul Tran Duc Chinh, Dominic Phung Ngoc Si, Peter Truong Viet Thien, Joseph Phung Minh Dang, Joseph Nguyen Hung Cuong, and Joachim Nguyen Tien Thanh will be ordained priests through the imposition of the hands by Mons. Dominic Nguyen Van Manh, Bishop of Dalat, on August 19, 2022, at the Chapel of the Dalat Pastoral Center. Cardinal Peter Nguyen Van Nhon, Archbishop Emeritus of Hanoi, and Mons. Anthony Vu Huy Chuong, Bishop Emeritus of Dalat, have expressed their intention to be present in the Ordination. These two Bishops-emeriti have accompanied the growth of our Congregation in Vietnam since the beginning of our presence there.
This is the first time that our Vietnamese Confreres will be ordained priests in Vietnam. In January this year, the Provincial Government of Lam Dong granted the recognition of our Congregation in the Diocese of Dalat, upon the endorsement of Bishop Nguen Van Manh.
In the same celebration, three Confreres: Thomas Nguyen Minh Tai, Joseph Nguyen Dinh Thong, and Francis Xavier Nguyen Phuc Thien will be ordained Deacons.
The Rogationists established their presence in Vietnam in 2003, under the jurisdiction of St. Matthew Province. At present, there are five Vietnamese priests assigned in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Australia. One is finishing his specialization in Rome.
