La comunità del Centro Rogate St. Hannibal ha sperimentato il Migliore del Sud-Est Asia e dell'America Centrale grazie al programma CULTURA 101: consapevolezza interculturale, cibo e mostre della Provincia San Matteo, tenutosi dal 14 al 17 agosto. I postulanti hanno generosamente condiviso la loro cultura con la comunità e con gli amici e i benefattori che hanno partecipato alla mostra culturale di quattro giorni. È stata istruttiva e ha aumentato la consapevolezza interculturale dei membri della comunità e degli ospiti sull'unicità e le peculiarità di ogni cultura o nazionalità da cui provengono i postulanti: El Salvador, Indonesia, Filippine e Vietnam. Tutti hanno anche apprezzato i diversi cibi preparati dai postulanti dalla prima all'ultima sera. In diverse locali della Casa del Postulato sono state collocate delle mostre con informazioni, immagini e materiali dei diversi paesi di provenienza dei postulanti. Ogni sera, i postulanti di ciascun paese hanno condiviso una presentazione in PowerPoint sulla loro cultura.
Questa attività ha dimostrato in modo concreto che le differenze culturali sono un arricchimento da promuovere. Allo stesso tempo, ha anche affermato che abbiamo una comunanza, data dalla nostra identità umana, cristiana e rogazionista, che trascende le differenze culturali. Continueremo quindi a camminare, a scoprire e ad apprezzare di più le nostre culture uniche e diverse e a promuovere l'unità nella diversità.
Postulancy: Culture 101
The St. Hannibal Rogate Center community experienced the BEST of Southeast Asia and Central America through the St. Matthew Province Postulancy's CULTURE 101: Intercultural Awareness, Food, and Exhibits held August 14-17. The postulants generously shared their culture with the community and the friends and benefactors who came for the four-day cultural exhibit. It was informative and raised intercultural awareness among the community members and guests about the uniqueness and peculiarities of each culture or nationality where the postulants come from: El Salvador, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Everyone also enjoyed the different foods prepared by the postulants from the first night to the last. Exhibits were set up in different areas of the Postulancy House with information, pictures, and materials from the different countries where the postulants come from. Each evening, postulants from each country shared a PowerPoint presentation about their culture.
This activity showed in a concrete way that cultural differences are an enrichment to be fostered. At the same time, it also affirmed that we have a commonality, given by our human, Christian, and Rogationist identity, that transcends cultural differences. Thus, we will continue to journey, discover and appreciate more of our unique and diverse cultures and promote unity in diversity.
