Dal 20 al 23 ottobre 2025, a Clark, nella provincia di Pampanga, nelle Filippine, si è tenuta la Conferenza nazionale sulla tutela dei minori e degli adulti vulnerabili. L'evento ha riunito esperti, membri del clero e leader laici con l'obiettivo di rafforzare le iniziative volte a proteggere i membri più vulnerabili della comunità ecclesiastica. Con un focus sulla tutela, l'evento ha previsto workshop, discussioni e presentazioni per mettere in pratica le migliori pratiche di cura e protezione in tutte le istituzioni ecclesiastiche.
Il tema della conferenza, "La nostra missione di tutela: un cammino di speranza e compassione", è stato organizzato dall'Ufficio Episcopale per la Protezione dei Minori e delle Persone Vulnerabili (PMVP) della Conferenza Episcopale Cattolica delle Filippine (CBCP), in collaborazione con la Pontificia Commissione per la Protezione dei Minori (PCPM), il Catholic Safeguarding Institute (CSI) e la Conferenza dei Superiori Maggiori delle Filippine (CMSP).
All'incontro hanno partecipato 385 delegati, tra cui vescovi locali, membri del clero, leader religiosi e professionisti laici, che hanno condiviso la loro esperienza con ospiti internazionali e rappresentanti delle Conferenze Episcopali Cattoliche di Malesia, Singapore, Brunei e Vietnam. Secondo i dati della conferenza, erano rappresentati il 76% delle diocesi, il 71% dei vicariati apostolici, il 50% delle prelature e l'ordinariato militare delle Filippine. I Rogazionisti erano rappresentati da P. Breynard Peji, RCJ. Era presente anche il vescovo di Daet, Mons. Herman Abcede, RCJ.
Philippines: National Conference on the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Adults
From October 20 to 23, 2025, the National Conference on the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Adults was held in Clark, Pampanga Province, Philippines. The event brought together experts, clergy, and lay leaders to strengthen initiatives to protect the most vulnerable members of the church community. With a focus on protection, the event featured workshops, discussions, and presentations to put best practices of care and protection into action in all church institutions.
The theme of the conference, “Our Mission of Safeguarding: A Journey of Hope and Compassion,” was organized by the Episcopal Office for the Protection of Minors and Vulnerable Persons (PMVP) of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), in collaboration with the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors (PCPM), the Catholic Safeguarding Institute (CSI), and the Conference of Major Superiors of the Philippines (CMSP).
The meeting was attended by 385 delegates, including local bishops, members of the clergy, religious leaders, and lay professionals, who shared their experiences with international guests and representatives from the Catholic Bishops' Conferences of Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Vietnam. According to conference data, 76% of dioceses, 71% of apostolic vicariates, 50% of prelatures, and the military ordinariate of the Philippines were represented. The Rogationists were represented by Fr. Breynard Peji, RCJ. The Bishop of Daet, Msgr. Herman Abcede, RCJ, was also present.
