On June 13, 2013, Feast of St. Anthony of Padua, 10 new recruits of the Union of Prayer for Vocations had been formally accepted as members. They had undergone a series of formation program held at Fr. Di Francia Center of Studies for some days. The rite of acceptance happened within the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Fr. Herman Abcede, provincial superior, and concelebrated by Fr. John Lucas, the councillor responsible for the laity and rogate, Fr. Rodolfo Patiag, the Superior of the Fr. Di Francia Center of Studies, Fr. Ariel Tecson, the director of the postulancy program and Fr. Edwin Manio, member of the USA Delegation. Some officers of the UPV also came to grace and witness the event.
In the homily which was delivered by Fr. Ariel Tecson, the assembly was reminded of the symbolic dimension of the 5B’s (Bulaklak/Flower, Baby Jesus, Bible, and Bibig/mouth) that one can find in the image of St. Anthony of Padua. Later after the mass Fr. John Lucas encourage all the members specially the new one in continually praying for vocations. At the end of the mass Fr. Herman also blessed the Bread of St. Anthony and distributed the same to the people.
