Today, October 1, the community of Rogationists and the Parish of St. Mary’s in Sanger remember in a special way Fr. Salvatore Ciranni, rcj, through the recitation of rosary and a memorial mass in his honor.
The Recitation of the Bi-lingual Rosary was prayed at 5,30 p.m. in the New Church, which was followed by a 6,00 p.m. Memorial Mass as a thanksgiving for the gift of more than thirty years of priestly ministry devoted by Fr. Ciranni in the diocese of Fresno, and to pray for the repose of his soul. Fr. John Bruno, presided the Holy Mass, concelebrated by Frs. Edwin Manio and Devassy Painadath. Fr. John in his homily remembered Fr. Sal’s particular love for the Eucharist, devotion to Mary, and especially his love and care for the poor in the parish. A slide video of some of the important moments of the ministry of Fr. Sal was shown after the communion (click video). Then, a pot-luck dinner was served in the Parish Hall. Many friends and parishioners came to grace the event.
