The Rogationist Missionary Station in Vietnam held a day of gathering for the Families of the Religious (FAMROG) on the vigil of the Feast of July 1st at the Cistercian Monastary of Chau-Son in Lam Dong Province. In this year, the hosts were the families in Don Duong. The families from BaoLoc and all the way from Vungtau came to grace the event.
The program started with the registration of the participants at 8:00 am, Followed by the talk of fr. Noel Balquin, RCJ, formator-responsible of the community in Vietnam, about the meaning and history in understanding July 1st . At 9:00 am. an hour of adoration with the theme: Communion, it was presided by Rev. Peter Hoang Van Dong, RCJ, followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass.
After lunch togeter in the place near by, everybody went around to pay a short visit the houses of the Rogationist Religious in Don Duong area. It was a moment of sharing experiences of fun and laughter, as well as, of difficulties and challenges, of fellowship and communion. It was at the same time, a moment for the Rogationist to share the development of the community in Vietnam.
Finally, a short meeting was done for some announcements like the upcoming ordinations, the building of the first house, the celebration of the 15th Year Anniversary of RMSV and planning for the next year’s FAMROG gathering. In conclusion, the Fr. Noel and the Religious and the Bao Loc and Vung Tau clusers thanked the families in Don Duong for hosting the event and bid them farewell.
It was indeed, a short day of gathering but the experience is somehow enriching because it gives more meaning in life, especially as a Family of the Rogate, and more so, in together for vocations as one big family. It was an event to thank the Lord of the Harvest, for all the blessings that He have given to the whole Family of the Rogate and to all its members.understanding better the traditions of the Congregation and the importance of praying
