(17.09.2023) Il Father Hannibal Formation Center (FHFC) di Paranaque (Manila) ha aperto il Festival dello Sport 2023-2024 con il tema "Abbracciare lo spirito del Rogate attraverso la grazia di Dio: Preghiamo, giochiamo". Il Festival dello Sport ha visto la partecipazione di cinque squadre, ognuna delle quali portava la parola "Grazia" tradotta in diverse lingue. Sem. Deo Gutierrez come capitano della squadra "Duyen Dang", Sem. Brian Ponce per "Chanan", Sem. Melchizedek Espiña per "Berkah", Sem. Archie Cabreros per "Chari" e Sem. Dexter Graycochea per "Gratia".
Il programma è iniziato con il benvenuto di P. Tom June Lancin, RCJ, Vice Superiore della FHFC. La comunità della FHFC ha riconosciuto la presenza dei seminaristi del Seminario di San Gaspare Bertoni e dei postulanti rogazionisti che hanno partecipato al festival dello sport. In seguito, il Sem. Brian Jay Ponce ha spiegato il significato del tema e del logo del Festival dello Sport 2023-2024.
P. Philip Alensolurin, RCJ, ha presentato l'illustre ospite d'onore e relatore, il signor Carlos Edriel Poquiz Yulo. Il campione mondiale di ginnastica ha condiviso un messaggio ispiratore con i seminaristi. Ha detto che dobbiamo continuare a cercare il nostro scopo nella vita, ad accontentarci di ciò che abbiamo e ad apprezzare tutte le grazie, le capacità e le opportunità che riceviamo perché tutto viene da Dio.
Dopo il discorso, i capitani delle squadre, insieme a Carlos Yulo, hanno acceso la Fiamma del Torneo come simbolo della luce e dello spirito di Dio. Per rendere l'attività più emozionante, i postulanti e i seminaristi rogazionisti si sono scatenati in balli di grande effetto. Poi il Sem. Dexter Graycochea ha pronunciato il giuramento di sportività. La giornata si è conclusa con tre partite di esibizione (basket, calcio e pallavolo) giocate dai seminaristi, dai membri del Seminario di San Gaspare Bertoni e dai Postulanti Rogazionisti. L'obiettivo di questo evento è manifestare il significato di sportività e fratellanza. Una fraternita' che unisce per la santità.
Seminary in Manila: ROGATE Sports Festival 2023
(17.09.2023) Father Hannibal Formation Center (FHFC) opened the 2023-2024 Sports Festival with the theme "Embracing the Spirit of Rogate through God's Grace: We Pray, We Play." There were five teams in this Sports Festival, with each team carrying the word "Grace" translated into different languages. Sem. Deo Gutierrez as team captain for "Duyen Dang", Sem. Brian Ponce for "Chanan", Sem. Melchizedek Espiña for "Berkah", Sem. Archie Cabreros for "Chari" and Sem. Dexter Graycochea for "Gratia".
The program began with the welcome of Fr. Tom June Lancin, RCJ, Vice Superior of FHFC. The FHFC community warmly acknowledged the presence of the seminarians from St. Gaspar Bertoni Seminary and the Rogationist postulants who participated in the sports festival. Afterward, Sem. Brian Jay Ponce explained the meaning of the theme and logo of the Sports Festival 2023-2024.
Fr. Philip Alensolurin, RCJ, introduced the distinguished guest of honor and speaker, Mr. Carlos Edriel Poquiz Yulo. The world champion gymnast shared an inspiring message with the seminarians. He said that we must continue to search for our purpose in life, to be content with what we have, and to appreciate all the graces, abilities, and opportunities that we receive because everything comes from God.
After the speech, the captains of the teams, together with Carlos Yulo, lit the Tournament Flame as a symbol of God's light and spirit. To make the activity more exciting, the Rogationist postulants and seminarians took to the floor with powerful dances. Then Sem. Dexter Graycochea led the oath of sportsmanship. The day concluded with three exhibition games (basketball, soccer, and volleyball) played by the seminarians, members of St. Gaspar Bertoni Seminary, and the Rogationist Postulants. The aim of this event is to manifest the meaning of sportsmanship and fraternity. A comradeship that unites for holiness.
