(April 8, 2024) It was truly providential that the first day of the mid-term General Assembly of St. Matthew Province fell on the Solemnity of the Annunciation. Thus, the activity officially began with the celebration of Holy Mass at 11 o'clock in the morning, presided by the Provincial Superior, Fr. Orville Cajigal RCJ. Prior to the Mass, the religious who would participate in the Assembly arrived early in the morning, some the day before, bringing goods from their respective communities. Other preparations were also made before the official start of the activity. Lunch was served immediately after the celebration of Holy Mass.
The afternoon was dedicated to a moment of reflection and prayer. Marcelino Diaz II, RCJ, gave the participants his reflections on the theme "Rogate is Prayer [Life]". In order to prolong the moment of silence, prayer and reflection, Eucharistic Adoration followed at the same time as the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and was concluded with the Evening Prayers and Solemn Vespers. Afterwards, everyone gathered and enjoyed dinner, which was followed by a time of fraternal bonding - to reunite for stories, life updates and friendly games among the confreres.
The Province of St. Matthew holds the General Assembly in the middle of the term of office of the Provincial and his Council. It is attended, in person or virtually, by all the perpetually professed religious of the Province. The General Assembly in 2020 was not held in person due to the pandemic.

Assemblea generale della Provincia San Matteo (1° giorno)
(8 aprile 2024) È stato davvero provvidenziale che il primo giorno dell'Assemblea generale di metà mandato della Provincia San Matteo sia caduto nella solennità dell'Annunciazione. Così, l'attività è iniziata ufficialmente con la celebrazione della Santa Messa alle 11 del mattino, presieduta dal Superiore Provinciale, P. Orville Cajigal RCJ. Prima della Messa, i religiosi che partecipano all'Assemblea sono arrivati di buon mattino, alcuni il giorno prima, portando cibi particolari i dalle rispettive comunità. Sono stati fatti anche altri preparativi prima dell'inizio ufficiale dell'attività di provenienza. Il pranzo è stato servito subito dopo la celebrazione della Santa Messa.
Il pomeriggio è stato dedicato a un momento di riflessione e preghiera. P. Marcelino Diaz II, RCJ, ha esposto ai partecipanti le sue riflessioni sul tema "Il Rogate è vita di preghiera". Per prolungare il momento di silenzio, preghiera e riflessione, è seguita l'adorazione eucaristica in concomitanza con il sacramento della riconciliazione, per poi concludersi con le preghiere della sera e i vespri solenni. Dopo, tutti si sono riuniti e hanno gustato la cena, seguita da un momento di fraternita' - per riunirsi per racconti, aggiornamenti sulla vita e giochi amichevoli tra confratelli.
La Provincia San Matteo tiene l'Assemblea generale a metà del mandato del Provinciale e del suo Consiglio. Vi partecipano, di persona o virtualmente, tutti i religiosi professi perpetui della Provincia. L'Assemblea generale del 2020 non si è tenuta di persona a causa della pandemia.
