(22 agosto) — La comunità rogazionista di Maumere (Indonesia) ha accompagnato i padri Yorius Ndawi ed Emanuel Rua alla parrocchia Maria Imakulata Lela di Lela, Maumere, dove hanno iniziato a fornire assistenza pastorale ai parrocchiani. Il vescovo Ewaldus Martinus Sedu di Maumere aveva chiesto alla congregazione di assumere la responsabilità di una parrocchia della diocesi. Tuttavia, a causa del numero limitato di sacerdoti Rogazionisti nella comunità, la richiesta del vescovo ha potuto essere soddisfatta solo ora.
La comunità rogazionista è stata accolta dal parroco, padre Arkadius Dhosa, e da alcuni membri del consiglio parrocchiale con un Hulir Wair, una cerimonia tradizionale di benvenuto di Maumere. Per il momento, i due sacerdoti rogazionisti affiancheranno padre Dhosa come viceparroci.
La chiesa parrocchiale di Santa Maria Imakulata Lela è una delle più antiche di Maumere, essendo stata fondata nel 1907. Si trova a 25 chilometri dal centro della città.
Indonesia: Towards the Entrustment of a Parish in Maumere
(August 22) — The Rogationist community in Maumere (Indonesia) accompanied Fathers Yorius Ndawi and Emanuel Rua to the Maria Imakulata Lela Parish in Lela, Maumere, where they began providing pastoral care to the parishioners. Bishop Ewaldus Martinus Sedu of Maumere had asked the congregation to take charge of a parish in the diocese. Due to the limited number of Rogationist priests in the community, however, the bishop's request could only be fulfilled now.
The Rogationist community was greeted by the parish priest, Fr. Arkadius Dhosa, and some of his parish council members with a Hulir Wair, a traditional Maumere welcoming ceremony. For the time being, the two Rogationist priests will serve as assistant parish priests to Fr. Dhosa.
The Santa Maria Imakulata Lela Parish Church is one of the oldest churches in Maumere, having been established in 1907. It is 25 kilometers from the town center.
