Philippine Quasi Province - On October 3, 2012 Fr. Herman Abcede, Provincial of the Quasi Province together with Fr. Danny Montana had the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement with the two bishops, respectively, Archbishop Antonio Ledesma DD of the archdiocese of Cagayan De Oro and Bishop Elinito Galido, DD of the Diocese of Iligan. The signing happened in the chancery of the Archdiocese of Cagayan De Oro. The two prelates are the responsible of the two cooperatives already involved in the assistance of the victims of the typhoon SENDONG.
The Memorandum of Agreement is related to the Project Mindanao, organized by the Philippine Quasi Province in collaboration with the General Government of the Rogationist Fathers and with the Episcopal Conference of Italy, to assist the victims of the typhoon SENDONG (Washi). The project is already implementing the second phase of the program which is called micro financing. The experience already gained in micro-financing by many associations, organizations and congregations involved in the fight against poverty in the Global South, demonstrates that a help to buy a new tool, a machine, or to start a small business, may mean providing a unique opportunity to millions of people in the world to improve their living conditions. The Philippine Quasi Province shares with others the appreciation of its value and consider micro-financing to be responsive to the needs of the displaced families and would empower them to achieve self-sustaining status.
