Orville Cajigal, RCJ, the Provincial Superior, read the letter of appointment before the new pastor made the profession of faith and received the keys of the church and the tabernacle. The faithful filled the church. Four choirs enlivened the Eucharistic liturgy, with a good number of concelebrating priests, including the confreres assigned to the other parish in the Archdiocese of Melbourne: the Holy Family Parish in Maidstone (Fr. Gerald Binegas, RCJ, Fr. John Baptist Nguyen Huy, RCJ and Fr. Edgar Dacaldacal, RCJ) and from St. Mel's Parish in Shepparton in the Diocese of Sandhurst (Fr. Rene Ramirez, RCJ and Fr. Ruel Desamparado, RCJ). King Cena, RCJ from Vietnam and Bro. Christian Allan De Sagun, RCJ, from the Philippines, and representatives of the Daughters of Divine Zeal and various religious congregations were also present to witness the event.
