In honor of their patron saint, St. John Berchmans, the novices of the Rogationists of the Sacred Heart of Jesus - St. Matthew Province held the "Rogationist Novitiate Day" last August 13 at St. Anthony's Boys Village (SABV), Silang, Cavite. The momentous event was organized by the 15 Rogationist Novices under the direction of Rev. Fr. Ariel Tecson RCJ, Novice Master, Rev. Fr. Joakim Nguyen Tien Thanh, RCJ, Assistant Novice Master, and Rev. Fr. Ronaldo Victoria, RCJ, Collaborator.
The celebration was graced by the presence and participation of the postulants and novices of the Daughters of Divine Zeal and the Salvatorian novices with their respective formators who joined the Rogationist novices in their activities.
The event began with the cutting of the ribbon, which marked the opening and viewing of the exhibition in the Novitiate House of St. John Berchmans. This was followed by the opening program in the SABV canteen. All gathered in the SABV chapel for the celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Fr. Ronaldo Paulino, RCJ, representative of the Provincial Superior of the Rogationist St. Matthew Province and Councilor for Religious Life, Formation and Vocation Ministry, presided at the Holy Mass. Fr. Vincent Dumdum, Superior of the community, welcomed the assembly.
All shared a meal inspired by a mixture of Filipino, Vietnamese, Indonesian and Mexican cuisine. Afterward, the novices presented the life of St. John Berchmans through their dances, artwork, poems, and original songs. The event ended with friendship games among the participants. During Vespers, Fr. Ariel summarized the 3 essential elements in the iconography of St. John Berchmans that depict his vocational pilgrimage: the Rule of Life - the practice of observing the rudiments of novitiate life; the Rosary - personal prayer, Marian devotion and spiritual life; and the Crucifix - the passion to carry one's cross and sacrifice.

In onore del loro patrono, San Giovanni Berchmans, i novizi rogazionisti della Provincia San Matteo hanno tenuto la "Giornata del Noviziato Rogazionista" lo scorso 13 agosto presso il St. Anthony's Boys Village (SABV), Silang, Cavite. L'evento è stato organizzato dai 15 Novizi Rogazionisti sotto la direzione del P. Ariel Tecson RCJ, Maestro dei Novizi, del P. Joakim Nguyen Tien Thanh, RCJ, Assistente del Maestro dei Novizi, e del P. Ronaldo Victoria, RCJ, Collaboratore.
La celebrazione è stata allietata dalla presenza e dalla partecipazione delle postulanti rogazionisti, delle postulanti e delle novizie delle Figlie del Divino Zelo e delle novizie salvatoriane con i loro rispettivi formatori che si sono uniti alle novizie rogazioniste nelle loro attività.
L'evento è iniziato con il taglio del nastro, che ha segnato l'apertura della mostra su San Giovanni Berchmans esposta nella Casa del Noviziato. A ciò è seguito il programma di apertura nella sala di mensa del SABV. Tutti si sono riuniti nella cappella del SABV per la celebrazione della Santa Eucaristia. P. Ronaldo Paulino, RCJ, rappresentante del Superiore Provinciale e Consigliere Provinciale per la Vita Religiosa, la Formazione e le Pastorale Vocazionale, ha presieduto la Santa Messa. P. Vincent Dumdum, Superiore della comunità, ha dato il benvenuto all'assemblea.
Tutti hanno condiviso un pasto ispirato a un mix di cucina filippina, vietnamita, indonesiana e messicana. In seguito, i novizi hanno presentato la vita di San Giovanni Berchmans attraverso danze, opere d'arte, poesie e canzoni originali. L'evento si è concluso con giochi amichevoli tra i partecipanti. Durante i vespri, P. Ariel ha riassunto i 3 elementi essenziali dell'iconografia di San Giovanni Berchmans che raffigurano il suo pellegrinaggio vocazionale: 1. la Regola di Vita - la pratica di osservare i rudimenti della vita di noviziato; 2. il Rosario - la preghiera personale, la devozione mariana e la vita spirituale; e 3. il Crocifisso - la passione di portare la propria croce e il sacrificio.
