Today, January 6, 2025, we started the Delegation’s Annual Assembly, 2024. It was moved from November 2024 to January 2025.
It started with the Rogationist Prayers, Lauds, and the Holy Mass. Fr. John Bruno presided over the Mass to celebrate all together his 50th Priestly Anniversary already celebrated on June 28, 2024. In his homily, he pointed out the importance of building community life as our first calling avoiding being individualistic. Moreover, he suggested that the pastors ought to communicate with their parochial vicars about the parish ministry.
The Assembly is held, as usual, for three days. The first half day was dedicated to a reflection on the Eucharist, “Do this in Remembrance of Me,” in the context of the “Eucharistic Revival”, which has been proposed and promoted by all the Bishops of the United States. Fr. Robert Borges, Vicar for the Clergy of the Diocese of Fresno, gave a presentation of the Pastoral Letter on the Eucharist, “Lord, I am not Worthy,” of the Most Reverend Joseph V. Brennan, Bishop of the Diocese of Fresno. In the afternoon, Fr Fiorenza, Superior of the Delegation, opened the Assembly and gave his report on the following points:
- Current Configuration of Our Lady of Guadalupe Delegation
- Events of our Journey to give Thanks to the Lord
- Projects about religious life, apostolate, government
The report was followed by discussion and sharing.
On the occasion of the Epiphany of the Lord, we shared lunch with 50 laypeople from the parish.
At the end of the day, we had a fraternal dinner.
