The St. Thomas Quasi Province (STQP) had the formal opening of the General Assembly of perpetually professed Confreres of the Circumscription held at the Fr. Luigi Memorial Hall in the Rogationist complex in Aluva, Kerala, India. Forty-two Confreres are participating in person while 27 others from the communities in India and abroad are joining by means of the online platform. The Assembly runs from December 1-4, 2022.
The schedule of the first day included the arrival and settling of the Confreres in the venue. At 4.30 pm, the participants of the Assembly gathered at the Hall for the opening prayer, the welcome address of Fr. Devassy Painadath, and ceremonial lighting of the oil lamp. Then, Fr. Jose Maria Ezpeleta, Vicar General and Councilor General for Religious Life, Formation, and Vocation Ministry, read the opening remarks of Fr. Bruno Rampazzo, Superior General, whom he is representing. Then, Fr. Brizio Greco, Treasurer General, gave short greeting and some words connected with the theme of the Assembly, namely, the theme of the 13thGeneral Chapter: Rogationist Religious Life Today. Unity, Sharing and Coordination. Fr. Shajan Pazhayil, Superior of the STQP, delivered his opening remarks to the Assembly.
One principal topic to be discussed in this Assembly is the Formation Manual of the Circumscription. Fr. Robin Arackparambil, Provincial Councilor for Formation, presented the salient points of the Manual which will be the object of discussion of the second day.
The first day of the Assembly also became the occasion for the re-launch of the official website of the Quasi Province (rcjindia.org) presented by Fr. Prabhin Prabhinabhavan, in charge of the Rogate Empowerment Center. Fr. Ezpeleta and Fr. Greco doing the ceremonial “click”of the keyboard for the said re-launch.
At 19.00, the participants of the Assembly gathered at the Seminary Chapel for the Thursday Eucharistic Adoration for Vocations. They were joined by the Religious students of the Rogate Ashram Scholasticate. Dinner followed at the Rogationist Ashram refectory, also to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Father Provincial, Fr. Shajan. A group of Daughters of Divine Zeal was present to greet the birthday celebrant.

La Quasi Provincia San Tommaso (QPST) ha aperto formalmente l'Assemblea Generale dei Confratelli professi perpetui della Circoscrizione, che si è tenuta presso la Fr. Luigi Memorial Hall nel complesso dei Rogazionisti ad Aluva, Kerala, India. Quarantadue confratelli partecipano di persona, mentre altri 27 dalle comunità in India e all'estero si uniscono tramite la piattaforma online. L'Assemblea si svolgerà dall'1 al 4 dicembre 2022.
Il programma del primo giorno prevedeva l'arrivo e la sistemazione dei Confratelli nella sede. Alle 16.30, i partecipanti all'Assemblea si sono riuniti nella Hall per la preghiera di apertura, il discorso di benvenuto di P. Devassy Painadath e l'accensione rituale della lampada a olio. In seguito, P. Jose Maria Ezpeleta, Vicario Generale e Consigliere Generale per la Vita Religiosa, Formazione e Pastorale Vocazionale, ha letto il discorso di apertura di P. Bruno Rampazzo, Superiore Generale, che rappresenta. Quindi, P. Brizio Greco, Economo generale, ha rivolto un breve saluto e alcune parole legate al tema dell'Assemblea, ovvero il tema del 13° Capitolo generale: La vita religiosa rogazionista oggi. Unità, condivisione e coordinamento. Padre Shajan Pazhayil, Superiore della QPST, ha tenuto il suo discorso di apertura dell'Assemblea.
Uno dei temi principali da discutere in questa Assemblea è il Manuale di formazione della Circoscrizione. P. Robin Arackaparambil, Consigliere provinciale per la Formazione, ha presentato i punti salienti del Manuale che sarà oggetto di discussione nella seconda giornata.
Il primo giorno dell'Assemblea è stato anche l'occasione per il rilancio del sito ufficiale della Quasi Provincia (rcjindia.org) presentato da P. Prabhin Prabhinabhavan, responsabile del Rogate Empowerment Center. P. Ezpeleta e P. Greco fanno il "click" cerimoniale sulla tastiera per il rilancio.
Alle 19.00, i partecipanti all'Assemblea si sono riuniti nella Cappella del Seminario per l'Adorazione Eucaristica per le vocazioni. A loro si sono aggiunti i religiosi studenti dello studentato Rogate Ashram dell'Ashram. È seguita la cena per festeggiare il 50° compleanno del Padre Provinciale, P. Shajan. Un gruppo di Figlie del Divino Zelo era presente per salutare il festeggiato.
