The movie “For the Love of the Poor. The Calling of Saint Hannibal” is now available on Youtube in three dubbed versions, namely: Italian, English and Spanish. The original in Portuguese was produced by the Rogationist St. Luke Province in Brazil two years ago. It is a 45-minute biopic fiction on the vocation story of St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia, who was portrayed by a Brazilian movie actor and commercial model, Willian Mello.
The availability of the movie on the internet is timely as the Church continues to reflect on the Youth, Faith and Vocation Discernment (theme of the Synod of Bishops 2018). It presents the elements and dynamics of the vocation discernment of our Founder, namely: the primacy of prayer, the seeking for guidance, and the engagement in the mission - all seen with the optic of the charism of the Rogate. The vocation story of St. Hannibal Mary stands out as a model to the young in their own search for meaning and purpose in life. It is a powerful instrument that can be used in our formation houses, parishes, schools, vocation promotion, lay associations and socio-educative apostolate.
The original and dubbed versions were realized, thanks to the efforts of various Rogationist Circumscriptions.
