Bro. Peter Carnecky RCJ of the Rogationist Province of St. Anthony Italian Center-North Province arrived in Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea on October 18, 2019, to render his missionary availability in the Rogationist Mission Station in Sideia as a Religious in Practical Training. Fr. Henry Ramos RCJ, in-charge of that Missionary Station, received him at the airport and brought him at the Office of the Catholic Bishops Conference in the city. It was not a mere coincidence that he arrived in his mission assignment on the feast day of St. Luke, the evangelist of the Rogate. The reading of the Mass was the proclamation of the command of Rogate which is strictly connected to the mission sending of the disciples. On October 20, the whole Church celebrates the World Mission Sunday 2019, which is rendered more significant for us Rogationists because of Bro. Peter's start of the missionary experience in Oceania.
From Port Moresby, Fr. Henry and Bro. Peter traveled to Alotau, the seat of the diocese where the Mission Station belongs. Bro. Joseph Binh RCJ, another Religious in Practical Training, joined them in the 4-hour trip from Alotau in the mainland to the island of Sideia where our Mission Station is located.
