Provincia San Matteo (Filippina)

The Novitiate of St. Matthew Province in Silang, Cavite, Philippines celebrated the Feast of St. John Berchmans who was declared Patron of the Novitiate of the Circumscription in 1980. St. Hannibal Mary proclaimed the young Jesuit Religious student as a Heavenly Rogationist on August 13, 1916.

The Aveni Foundation, named in honor of Fr. Joseph Aveni, RCJ, was founded in May 2018 by Dr. Erlinda Gordon, MD. in Santa Monica, California (USA). It is an IRS sanctioned 501C3 public charity whose mission is to expedite the development of tumor and gene-targeted technologies for cancer and other unmet medical needs.

A Memorial Mass for the late Fr. Cesare Bettoni RCJ has been organized by Saint Matthew Province at the Seminary in Manila on July 14, on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Fr. Dexter Prudenciano, Vicar Provincial, presided over the liturgy that will be in live streaming via the Facebook page of the Seminary at 5:00PM Philippine time (11:00 AM Italian time).

For this occasion, the Province has produced a collage of photos that paint the colorful Rogationist Missionary life of Fr. Cesare. It is available on YouTube.                                                          

La comunità del Centro Missionario di Sideia ha celebrato la XIV domenica del tempo ordinario, che ha coinciso con il compleanno di S. Annibale Maria Di Francia, con l'ammessione formale di Domenico Momo come seminarista rogazionista, il battesimo di due giovani membri della comunità cristiana, e la prima santa comunione di altre due ragazze. P. Henry Ramos, RCJ ha presieduto la Santa Messa.

Annibale Maria Di Francia, riproponiamo il video clip della dichiarazione della Dott.ssa Zarah Reza e quella della figlia, Signorina Charisse Nicole Diaz, la quale offre in prima persona la sua testimonianza sul miracolo da lei ottenuto 27 anni fa per intercessione di P. Annibale. Il riconoscimento di questa guarigione straordinaria ed inspiegabile ha aperto la strada alla canonizzazione del nostro carissimo Padre Fondatore nel 2004.

The commemoration of the birth of St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia today, July 5, was marked by the perpetual profession of 11 Religious students and the renewal of temporary vows of other 30 young confreres of the St. Matthew Province, held in the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and Papua New Guinea through the priests delegated by the Provincial to receive the professions on his behalf. The Religious students are of various nationalities: Filipinos, Indonesians, and Vietnamese.

Nel nostro seminario di Ribang - Maumere (Indonesia) è stata collocata una lapide in ringraziamento del contributo offerto dalla Signora Lucia Ferrazzano, in memoria di suo fratello Sig. Nicola Ferrazzano. La lapide commemorativa è stata recentemente collocata all'entrata della cappella del seminario, dopo essere stata svelata alcuni mesi fa, nell'ocassione della visita canonica di P. Orville Cajigal, Superiore Provinciale, il 16 novembre 2019.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect lives and disrupt the daily living of many people, the Communities of the St. Matthew Province (SMP) made some initiatives in adapting to the “new normal,” and at the same time, to respond to the needs of their neighbor that affected by this crisis. Here are some of the community initiatives which took place between April to May 2020. This article is an update to the 1^st of a series, which featured the activities from February to March 2020.

Taking advantage of the period of the General Community Quarantine, while following the prescribed cautionary measures, Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, the Provincial Superior, did the Canonical Visit to the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish on June 1-2, 2020. The encounter was highlighted with personal dialogue with each of the members of the religious community, and with prayers, which were mostly live-streamed to ensure continuous evangelization of the faithful while staying at their respective homes. Bro.

From June 3-5, 2020, Fr. Orville Cajigal, RCJ, the Provincial Superior, did the Canonical Visit to the St. Hannibal Empowerment Center (SHEC),observing prescribed precautions while the area is under General Community Quarantine. Personal dialogue with each of the members of the religious community, and prayers highlighted the visit. Fr. Cajigal also had the opportunity to have an encounter with the staff of the religious community and the SHEC as a social welfare and development agency. Bro.
