The Community of Father Hannibal Formation Center held its annual Vocation Orientation last December 26-30, 2011, with participants coming from different parts of Luzon.
In the 5-day Vocation Orientation, there were 51 applicants who came to participate in the Seminary’s search-in program as spearheaded by the Vocation Promoter, Rev. Fr. Tirso T. Alcover, RCJ. They were engaged into different conferences and participated in several seminary activities as they were assisted and accompanied by the religious priests, brothers and seminarians in discerning their call to religious life.
In the said event, the applicants were given a general orientation regarding the activities they will be undergoing for five days of their stay. In their stay, they were also provided with dormitories, along with the seminarians and religious brothers. For the next days, they engaged themselves into conferences regarding vocations, priestly and religious life, the challenges of priesthood and other inputs as well. As they attended conferences, they also prayed, played and performed some seminary duties.
Aside from their participation in seminary duties, the applicants also made a tour to some Rogationist communities like the community in St. Hannibal Rogate Center/Senior Seminary (Calcutta), the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish (Multinational Village, Parañaque), St. Anthony’s Boys Village/Rogationist College, Rogationist Novitiate and the Oasis of Prayer (Cavite). They also made a tour and recreation at SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.
With the seminary duties and other activities aiding them to discern the applicants’ calling, interviews by the Rogationist priests at the Seminary community were facilitated. As interviews were facilitated, the applicants also took entrance examinations from the Rogationist Seminary-College. The climax of the event took place during the Vocation Night, where applicants took the opportunity to showcase their talents.
As they end their Vocation Orientation, the applicants were given final instructions regarding their participation in the said event. After the instructions were given, the applicants went home. By: Sem. John Francis C. Aberion
