Ogni sabato, i seminaristi rogazionisti e i volontari laici delle tre case del Vietnam preparano panini da distribuire ai poveri. Chiamati localmente Banh Mi, questi panini di carne e verdura sono un modo semplice di inculturare il "Pane di Sant'Antonio" nel contesto del paese. L'impegno settimanale è iniziato più di due anni fa come un semplice gesto di solidarietà con i poveri, ispirato dall'esempio di Sant'Annibale Maria Di Francia. Ora, circa 700 panini vengono distribuiti settimanalmente ai poveri di Saigon, Phu Cuong e Dalat, grazie agli sforzi congiunti delle case di formazione rogazioniste, dei voluntari e dei benefattori, devoti a Sant'Antonio di Padova e a Sant'Annibale Maria. Il progetto è tanto più rilevante e attuale nella situazione della pandemia globale di oggi.
The joy of sharing with the poor
Every Saturday, Rogationist seminarians and lay volunteers of the three houses in Vietnam prepare sandwiches to be distributed to the poor. Locally called Banh Mi, these meat and vegetable sandwich is a simple way of inculturating the “Bread of St. Anthony” in the context of the country. The weekly commitment started more than two years ago as a simple gesture of solidarity with the poor, inspired by the example of St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia. Now, around 700 sandwiches are distributed weekly to the poor in Saigon, Phu Cuong, and Dalat, through the joint efforts of the Rogationist formation houses and the lay collaborators and benefactors devoted to St. Anthony of Padua and St. Hannibal Mary. The project is all the more relevant and actual in the present condition of the global pandemic.
