Bishop Shane Mackinlay from the Diocese of Sandhurst recently visited the General Curia and had lunch with the community there. Currently attending the Synod on Synodality in Rome as one of the representative Bishops of Australia, Bishop Mackinlay expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Rogationists to his diocese during the meeting.
Beginning November 4th, 2023, St. Mel's parish in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia, under the diocese of Sandhurst, will be officially entrusted to the Rogationists of St. Matthew Province. Fr. Rene Ramirez has been assigned as the new parish priest for the said parish. Coincidentally, Fr. Rene found himself in Rome completing his Sabbatical Leave and had the opportunity to meet Bishop Mackinlay during lunch.
During the lunch meeting, Bishop Mackinlay was presented with a small pergamena by Fr. Bruno Rampazzo, the Superior General. The pergamena contained a printed copy of the original page of adhesion to the Rogationist Sacred Alliance, which signified support from the 2nd Bishop of Sandhurst, His Excellency, Most Rev. Stephen Reville, OSA, in 1911.
