The Vietnamese Rogationist confreres join other Asian students studying Theology at Don Bosco Center of Studies in Paranaque in the celebration of the Annual Lunar New Year on January 28, 2017. Many countries in East Asia, namely: China, Taiwan, Korea, Vietnam and Singapore celebrate the Lunar New Year, which is considered as the most important event in the yearly calendar. After the celebration of the Liturgical Proper of the Celebration of “Tet”, the professors and students shared the New Year banquet which consisted in special traditional foods.

The Rogationist Parish of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Sidea, Papua New Guinea opened a two-day sports tournament called “St. Hannibal Cup 2017” on January 21-22. The event gathered the youths of the parish who are also students of the primary and secondary schools of the Rogationist Mission.

With the theme “Building Communion”, the St. Anthony’s Boys Village (SABV) and Rogationist College in Cavite (RC-C) celebrates its 30th anniversary of foundation on January 22, 2017 with a series of activities that run for six days. These include the Family Day, High School Sports Fest, Alumni Home Coming, Personal Recognition Day, College and Technical School Day, and a 10 Kilometer Fund Raising Fun Run.

Fr. John Lucas, Provincial Vicar of St. Matthew Province, led the ground-breaking ceremonies of the construction of the first Rogationist Religious House in Vietnam on January 13, 2016, after a conclebrated Mass. Bro. Nilo Pelobello, SMP Provincial Treasurer assisted in a ceremony attended by the Rogationist confreres, diocesan and religious priests, seminarians, Daughters of Divine Zeal, relatives, benefactors and friends.

Paul John Mapacpac, who completes the new batch of missionaries to the Rogationist mission Papua New Guinea, will finally fly tonight, December 30, 2016. Bro. Ninety young men attended the annual year-end vocation orientation in the two Seminaries of Rogationist St. Matthew on December 27-30. Forty-five youths from the Provinces of Luzon and the Tagalog-speaking islands went to Fr. Hannibal Formation Center in Paranaque, while another forty-five young men from the Visayas and Mindanao Provinces partook the search-in program in St. Hannibal Formation Center in Cebu. Rogationist speakers talked about vocation in general, the primacy of prayer and discernment, the Vocation to Rogationist Priesthood and Brotherhood.

The Rogationists Communities in Philippines (Fr. Hannibal Formation Center – Paranaque; St. Hannibal Formation Center – Cebu; Fr. Di Francia Center of Studeies – Paranaque) Vietnam (Missionary Station) and Mexico (Tonela) shared the spirit of Christmas through the Christmas Sharing to over thousands of children, especially those who are less privileged. They had the meal, games and gift-giving.
