14 FIRST PROFESSION AND 13 NOVICES
On May 31, 2014 the Philippine Quasi Province rejoiced for the great blessings of vocations. In a liturgical rites presided over by Fr. Herman Abcede, RCJ., Provincial Superior, in the Chapel of St. Anthony’s Boys Village, 13 young men were accepted to the novitiate and 14 courageous young men also had their first profession of vows. The celebration started at 10:00 in the morning then it was followed by a bountiful lunch for everybody. The confreres from various communities, the parents of the candidates, friend and benefactors of the congregation graced the said occasion. Fr. Herman stressed the importance of the faith-courage, love-generosity and hope-availability dynamics in the life of following Jesus.
5 PERPETUAL PROFESSION AND RENEWAL OF 40 RELIGIOUS
The Philippine Quasi Province was glad for the generosity the young men who declared to give their whole life for the service of God and of His Church. On June 1, 2014, at 4:00 in the afternoon, Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, 5 religious, namely, Bro. Jessel Bangoy, Bro. Llyd Suarez, Bro. Sherwin Valenzuela, Bro. Wilford Urmaza and Bro. Joseph Houng, professed their vows perpetually. In the same celebration 25 religious renewed their vows for another year. The rest of the religious renewed also their vows in the various communities they are assigned. Thus totaling 40 religious renewed the vows this year 2014. Fr. Herman reminded the religious who renewed and who perpetually professed of the need to be aware that they are challenged to be “reminders” of God in this present world. The confreres from various communities, the parents of the candidates, friend and benefactors of the congregation graced the said occasion.
