For the past ten days he was admitted in AMALA Medical Center, Trissur, Kerala and they diagnosed Cancer in Brain and in the Lungs. After consulting with Superior General, Vicar General and his brother Mr. Guarino, we have decided to have his further medication in Italy. On July 18 he was brought back to the Quasi Province community with the intention of leaving for Italy on July 19, 2013. During the few hours he stayed in the community he was visited by many to extend prayerful support and wishes for his speedy recovery. Among whom include His Beatitude Cardinal George Allanchery the Major Arch Bishop of Syro Malabar Church, Bp. Thomas Chakiath, Rev. Fr. Antony Narikulam Rector of the Pontifical Seminary, Many Provincials of religious congregations, Priests and Religious, Parents of the religious and many Friends. With a very pleasant smile Fr. Luigi received all and expressed his desire to come back soon after the medication. He is loved by all because of what he is and the way he communicated with his pleasant presence. On July 19, 2013, after having all the necessary documents for his travel and with the assurance of the feasibility of his travel from the Doctors, accompanied by Fr. Togy Ullatikulam Rcj, and Mr. Guarino and Maria, Fr. Luigi went back to Italy. All the medical documents were brought along with him in order to continue the treatment in Gemelli Hospital in Italy.
